The Nigerian Police Force, on Monday, gave an update on the ongoing investigation of the mysterious death of popular afrobeat singer, Mohbad.
Giving the update in a tweet on Monday night, the police urged Nigerians to remain calm as the country awaits the autopsy result of the singer.
According to the tweet, the best forensic pathologist in the country had carried out the autopsy in the presence of family members.
The police also detailed that other aspects of the investigation were going fine.
“As assured by the CP, the autopsy was promptly carried out, by some of the best forensic pathologists in the country, in the presence of family members. While we await the result, we urge everyone to remain calm and confident in the process. There is absolutely no underhand dealing, as feared by some concerned persons. In the meantime, other aspects of the investigation are also progressing well,” the statement read.
News About Nigeria recalls that the death of MohBad had sparked outrage across the country. The cause of his death is still yet to be ascertained sent a shockwave across Nigeria with many calling for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of the singer’s death.
Following the call, Nigerian police formed a 13-member team to examine the singer’s death. However, the authorities recently performed an autopsy on the singer’s body.
Many Nigerians, have continued to call for the arrest of his label boss, Naira Marley, for his and his partner, Sam Larry’s role in the singer’s death, demanding that they be immediately arrested.
