Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Kingsley Moghalu has revealed that he will soon reveal why he abruptly ended his political career to face his professional life.
Making this disclosure in a tweet on Saturday, Moghalu, who contested the 2019 presidential election under the umbrella of the Young Nigerian Peoples Party, YPP detailed that his decision to abandon politics and return to being nonpartisan was very personal.
“Some day I will tell the story of why I walked away from my brief but impactful foray into partisan politics in Nigeria, adopted a nonpartisan stance, and returned to full-time professional life. It’s a very personal story. E go shock! But timing is everything,” Mr Moghalu wrote.
His comment comes amid wide calls for him to join forces with Peter Obi’s camp to rebuild the nation.
News About Nigeria recalls that Moghalu joined Omoyele Sowore and Fela Durotoye as the country sought a strong third force to seize power from the ruling and main opposition parties. However, after the three politicians failed to reach an agreement on who would run for the presidency, they went ahead and formed the various political parties.
However, since the conclusion of the 2019 presidential election, both Fela Durotoye and Mr Moghalu appear to have stayed away from contesting election. Only Omoyele Sowore has remained committed to emerging as the third force capable of unseating the ruling and main opposition parties.
