The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has stated that they are eagerly awaiting information from singer Bella Shmurda, a close friend of the late rapper Mohbad, to aid in their ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s controversial death.
News About Nigeria previously reported that Mohbad, a fast-rising rapper, passed away on Tuesday under circumstances that have raised questions and controversy.
In response, the police initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the rapper’s demise.
The law enforcement agency has appealed to individuals who may possess useful information about the late rapper’s death, particularly friends and family members, to come forward and assist with the investigation.
Controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo took to her social media platform to issue a 48-hour ultimatum to Bella Shmurda, urging him to go to the police and share any relevant details about the incident.
In her tweet, she wrote, “Bella Shmurda I’m giving you 48 hrs to go to @PoliceNG and speak to @Princemoye1 or force CID Ikoyi.”
In response to Olunloyo’s post, Police spokesperson Adejobi quoted her message and added, “I am waiting to hear from him.”
Bella Shmurda had previously disclosed during an interview that Mohbad had attempted suicide following his fallout with Marlian Music, a record label owned by Naira Marley.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Bella Shmurda disclosed that Mohbad had attempted to jump off a balcony.
His girlfriend intervened in time to prevent the tragedy.
