Popular Nollywood actor and comedian, Williams Uchemba, bid a final farewell to his late mother with a touching burial ceremony a month after her passing.
News About Nigeria reports that the actor shared a series of photos from the event, depicting the Uchemba family members dressed in white attire.
In his heartfelt post, he expressed his wishes for his mother’s spirit to find eternal rest and hoped to reunite with her someday.
Leading up to the burial, Uchemba shared a video on his Instagram page, revealing the preparations for the significant event.
The footage showed him in his village alongside his community members, making arrangements for the ceremony.
The actor’s convoy, accompanied by heavily armed police officers, arrived in his hometown. Cattle were displayed in readiness for the occasion, while a large caterpillar was employed to repair a substantial portion of the road leading to his mother’s residence.
In a touching tribute, Uchemba thanked his late mother for her unwavering support and encouragement throughout his life, including her role in his entry into the film industry.
He expressed his love for her and gratitude for her guidance, even in times of adversity.
“As I get ready to give you your final rest, I want to thank you again for helping me become the man I am today.
“I want to thank you for putting me in the film industry, I want to thank you for always encouraging me to fulfil my goals and dreams.
“I can remember when world was against me and told lies about me, you called me and hailed me “Don willyyy” x3 and told me to not pay attention to them cos you know me more than anyone else.”
