UAE Lifts Visa Ban On Nigerians After Tinubu’s Intervention

The United Arab Emirates has lifted the visa ban placed on Nigerians after President Bola Tinubu’s intervention, News About Nigeria reports.

Following the landmark deals Tinubu secured with them, flight schedules into and out of Nigeria by Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines have also resumed.

This was made known on the President’s official X account on Monday.

Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, said that Tinubu and the UAE ruler, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday met in Abu Dhabi to finalize the historic agreement which has resulted in the immediate reversal of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travellers.

“Furthermore, by this historic agreement, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are to immediately resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria, without any further delay,” the statement reads.

He also revealed that Tinubu reached an agreed framework for new investments worth several billions of U.S. dollars into the Nigerian economy by the UAE government, covering multiple sectors including defence and agriculture.

Tinubu’s spokesperson further stated that the leaders were working towards normalizing and enhancing the relationship between the two countries, which is fostered by the collaboration between President Tinubu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Tinubu also commended the UAE President for his friendship and for his determination towards partnering with him to fully normalize and reset to excellence, the standard of relations between the two important countries.
