Nigerian music sensation, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has hinted at the possibility of taking a break from music, News About Nigeria reports.
In his latest Instagram story, he revealed that he just got a contract that will test his love for music.
According to him, God really wants to test if he really loves doing music and he must just stop releasing music like Rihanna did.
“With the numbers I’m seeing on this contract. These next years of my life are about to really show if I really love doing music.
“God must really want to test my love for music. I just might bounce on y’all like Rihanna,” he wrote.
Rihanna released ‘Lift Me Up’ on October 28, 2022, as the lead single from the soundtrack album of the 2022 superhero film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Apart from that, the last music she released was on March 27, 2020, a feature on the track ‘Believe It’ a single by PartyNextDoor.
Her last studio album, Anti, came out in 2016, and fans have been anticipating a new one from the singer ever since.
Rihanna also appeared in songs by other artists in 2017, including Lemon by N.E.R.D, Future’s Selfish, DJ Khaled’s Wild Thoughts, and Loyalty by Kendrick Lamar.
Burna Boy rose to stardom in 2012 after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E (2013).
In 2017, Burna Boy signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the United States and Warner Music Group internationally. His third studio album Outside (2018) marked his major-label debut.
