American singer Akon has given financial advice to his fans who intend to stay rich, News About Nigeria gathered.
During a recent appearance on the latest episode of the Impulsive Podcast, the ‘Lonely’ singer declared himself the stingiest man on the planet.
According to him, it is essential to be stingy if one wants to preserve one’s wealth.
He said; “If you want to stay rich, stay stingy. I’m the stingiest man on the planet.”
He went on to advise his fans and colleagues against buying a private jet if they want to retain wealth.
He argued that the cost to maintain the private jet will eventually outweigh the actual jet cost.
“Whatever you do, do not own a (private) jet. Bro, owning a jet is spending at least 2-3 million dollars a year just for upkeep [maintenance]. You spend more on the maintenance than the actual jet cost.
“This is the advice I give everybody. The money that you have now has to last you a lifetime. When you reason it that way, you are going to be very prudent,” he said.
This comes after the singer claimed that Congolese kill gorillas with their bare hands.
In one of the episodes of Mike Tyson’s ‘hotboxin podcast’ which dropped in 2020, the professional boxer revealed that he had conducted an ancestry test, which led to the discovery of his Congolese heritage.

Speaking on this, Akon praised Tyson’s courage and stated that Congolese people possess an incredible amount of fearlessness and strength.
Akon went on to claim that Congolese people are capable of defeating gorillas in physical confrontations.
