Evicted Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) All Stars housemate, Tolanibaj, has revealed that to secure victory, housemates often need to portray a pitiable story.
She said this in a video she shared on her YouTube channel seen by News About Nigeria.
According to her, she did not regret any of her actions in the house but however, she said that she would do things differently if given the chance.
She mentioned her aversion to seeking pity from others, noting that she did not go into the show with a mentality to win based on a pitiable story.
“If you want to win the show, you need to have a pity story. This is something I’ve always known but that’s not my character, to want people to pity me.
“Even when I want to cry, I don’t like crying in front of people. I would run to the bathroom or somewhere to cry. I hate when people pity me.”
Tolanibaj’s eviction on Sunday, August 27, came with a decision to not grant any interviews, as she chose to break from the norm.
However, she felt it necessary to update her fans and address the trending narratives about her through a video message.
In the video, she clarified that she didn’t grant any interview because she didn’t want to give anyone access to her. According to her, she does not want to wake up early in the morning and wear makeup for a week straight.
“I decided to drop a video on my channel because I haven’t granted any post-eviction interviews. I didn’t feel the need to grant anybody access to me.
“I wanted to be selfish with my time. I did not want to wake up early for anybody, I did not want to do make-up for one week straight.
“I’m also seeing a narrative out there saying, ‘Tolanibaj is embarrassed, that’s why she’s not doing any interview’. You wish! That thing is very smelly to my ears.
“It’s really flattering that a lot of y’all are using Tolanibaj’s name to chase clout. Whatever narrative is out there, whatever you choose to believe, that’s on you.”
