The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT has upheld the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country’s president, News About Nigeria reports.
The Tribunal in a unanimous ruling struck out the petition brought before the court by the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Justice Haruna Tsammani, leader of the five-man panel, said, “This petition accordingly lacks merit. I affirm the return of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The parties are to bear their cost.”
Recall that the presidential candidate of the opposition parties had approached the PEPT to sack President Bola Tinubu.
