Rev. Yakubu Pam, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s actions since taking office, assuring Christians in the country that their concerns about potential persecution have been alleviated.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Rev. Pam expressed his appreciation for the federal government’s “excellent support” to the NCPC, which serves as the sole facilitator of Christian pilgrimages in Nigeria.

As gathered by News About Nigeria, Rev. Pam revealed that the NCPC recently briefed President Tinubu on their activities and objectives, including plans for Christian pilgrimages to destinations such as Israel, Rome, Jordan, and Greece.

Rev. Pam emphasized the significance of these pilgrimages, which offer hundreds of Christians the opportunity for prayer retreats. He conveyed his immense gratitude for the unwavering support received from the current administration.

Addressing concerns about disinformation spread by opposition politicians, Rev. Pam urged Nigerians to unite behind President Tinubu’s administration to achieve substantial progress for the nation.

During the recent election season, some politicians had bemoaned divisive sentiments, alleging that Nigeria was on the brink of religious conversion. However, Rev. Pam expressed relief that the current administration embraces religious diversity and inclusivity.

The statement from the leader of the NCPC has been received by some Nigerians as a reassurance to Christians in the country, while highlighting the government’s preparedness to supporting religious freedom and diversity.

However, others have condemned the NCPC Executive Secretary for being political and siding an illegitimate government.

Recall on Monday, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), announced that it will pass a verdict on Wednesday September 6, in the case between Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, regarding the 2023 Presidential election.
