As the date approaches for the showdown between former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and reigning WBC heavyweight king Tyson Fury, the anticipation continues to build.
The crossover bout which is scheduled to take place on October 28 under boxing rules, has garnered immense attention from fans, boxers and experts alike.
Derek Chisora, who has faced Tyson Fury three times in the past, shared his insights into the upcoming battle, as gathered by News About Nigeria.
Despite his own losses to Fury, Chisora believes Ngannou has what it takes to emerge victorious, particularly under the tutelage of boxing legend Mike Tyson.
Chisora states, “Yes, I’ve been watching him train with Mike Tyson, that’s a big fight. Tyson is going to win it, but I think Tyson is going to get dropped by Ngannou.”
Fury’s father, John Fury, also acknowledged Ngannou’s threat, expressing his belief that the Cameroonian fighter has the potential to do some damage.
Fury Sr. comments, “I do believe [Ngannou’s] going to bring the smoke… I’m expecting Tyson to come out with a broken leg or a broken arm. He’s going to get knocked about, Tyson, and he knows that.”
The anticipation surrounding the bout is not solely due to the high-profile nature of the fighters involved, but also the event of a crossover fight between a boxing champion and a former UFC heavyweight champion.
The clash of fighting styles and the uncertainties of the outcome is said to have captured the attention of all following it.
