Wike Says He'll Transform Abuja Before 2027

Former Rivers State governor and the current minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has dared the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to take disciplinary actions against him.

Mr Wike argued on Channels TV Politics Today on Wednesday that those who were unable to achieve the feat he achieved for the party in Rivers state did not have the right to suspend or expel him.

“We are just waiting for the presidential panel to finish you will know who are working members of the party. How can anybody talk about expelling me, a state that provided a governor, a state that got three senators, a state that produced 32 House of Assembly members, state that produced 11 out of 13 House of Reps the person that will suspend me is the one the couldn’t produce a governor, that couldn’t produce three senators, the one that couldn’t produce assembly, look I have not seen that person, nobody will do it…I want to dare anybody who will say that,” said Minister Wike in the interview monitored by News About Nigeria.

His comment comes after his name appeared on the campaign council of both the ruling All Progressives Congress and that of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Recall that Wike in the buildup to the 2023 presidential election fell out with his party after he lost the party’s primary election to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Following his fallout with the party, Mr Wike formed a group with four other disgruntled governors and worked against his party at the polls.

However, upon his appointment as FCT minister by the ruling party, many expected Minister Wike would defect to the ruling party. Instead, the former Rivers governor has defied the PDP leadership to try to eject him.
