In a video making rounds on social media, a teenage house help whose name has been withheld was caught attempting to contaminate cooking oil with her menstrual blood, News About Nigeria reports

The young girl who was in tears while being interrogated by a boss was asked for her personal information, including her name and place of origin which she revealed on camera.

The girl who was on her menses was asked to transfer some palm oil from a reserved container into a smaller one, however, she decided to urinate in a cup and attempted to pour the urine which was mixed with her blood into the smaller oil container.

According to one Essien, he said, “What she’s holding is not red oil, it’s her menstruation urine, she was asked to pour oil from the bigger container to the smaller one so that it can be easily used, and she dropped the oil and went to urinate inside the cup that she’s holding, her intention was to pour the urine into the red oil, but fortunately, her boss caught her red-handed.”

Responding to the clip, X (formally Twitter) users condemned the act and also probed further for the girl’s welfare. Mr Maduka @itsmaduka said, “this is the height of evil.” Another user, @sim_ple_man wrote, ” As much as i condemn her act, how sure she’s not being maltreated by her boss.”

Ajaja Ayomide said the act was not about her place of origin so, tribalism must not be brought into the case. @ajaja_ayomide tweeted “Bad act to be condemned but for me tribalism must not be brought into everything. This has nothing to do with where she came from, evil is evil regardless of who, tribe or color.”

Abdusalam Abiodun said the girl’s side has to be heard and there could be a case of maltreatment. @RamadanAbiodun1 commented “Why is she not in school? Re they maltreating her? Am totally against what she did but they ought to ask her her reasons for doing such an evil act.”
