President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerian youths that they are not alone, and he has urged them to participate in the country’s government.

Making this plea in honour of International Youth Day, President Tinubu urged Nigerian youngsters to pursue their dreams and become active in the country’s government, assuring them that the entire nation was behind them and ready to support their aspirations.

“As you celebrate this International Youth Day, know that you are not alone – the entire nation stands behind you, ready to champion your aspirations. Embrace the challenges, chase your dreams, be involved, and continue to be the beacon of hope that lights up our nation,” Tinubu wrote.

His remark comes as Nigerians continue to bear the pain of the elimination of fuel subsidies. As a result of the country’s difficult economic position, many young people have lost their jobs, and the unemployment rate is expected to climb.

News About Nigeria notes that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, had previously expressed concern over the country’s unemployment rate. Mr Obi, who urged Nigerian youths not to be disheartened by the country’s current economic position, expressed concern that the country’s unemployment rate would climb further.

Obi, who received youth support during the 2023 general election, urged Nigerian youths to remain hopeful. He also urged the administration to focus on the country’s young people in order to improve the country’s economy.

International Youth Day is a day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate young people across the World.
