Al-Makura, Lolo, and Agara Are the New APC National Chairman Candidates While President Tinubu Prepares to Name Kyari Minister Political heavy hitters have started making plans to succeed Adamu Abdullahi and Iyiola Omisore, who resigned as the National Chairman and National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), respectively.

Abubakar Kyari, the party’s Deputy Chairman (North), has assumed the role of Acting National Chairman until a new party leader is elected at a Convention that has not yet been scheduled.

According to a source who spoke with The PUNCH, Adamu and Omisore’s replacements are currently being considered, along with a number of other candidates, including former governors and major politicians from the North-Central and South-West.

The source included former Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, former Niger State Governor Abu Lolo, former Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Silas Ali Agara, and a former governor of Plateau State while discussing a potential replacement for the position of substantive national chairman.

He was persistent, though, that Lolo might not be given the chance since he lacked the ability to “properly manage people.”
