Sports analyst Simon Jordan has urged Anthony Joshua to “grow up” following Joshua’s claim that the talkSPORT team has been targeting his reputation, News About Nigeria reports.

Jordan, who was once the owner of Crystal Palace football club, acknowledged that Joshua is a prominent figure in boxing and thus subject to scrutiny by sports analysts.

During a recent press conference for his upcoming fight against Dillian Whyte on August 12, Joshua expressed his belief that the sports platform frequently criticizes him while favoring his adversaries like Tyson Fury.

“Why is it that when everyone’s favorite at talkSPORT [Fury] fought Otto Wallin and caused a significant eye injury after 12 rounds, no one voiced complaints?” Joshua rhetorically questioned.

“Yet, when I went the distance with Jermaine Franklin, suddenly it’s, ‘Oh no, what’s happened to the heavyweight division?’ Why is that? Why is there such interest in me from the talkSPORT team?”

Regarding the source of the criticism directed towards him, Joshua remarked, “In my opinion, there are two factors at play. Firstly, there are the general haters, and secondly, there are those who genuinely want me to improve, and I appreciate that.”

Responding to Joshua’s accusations on Tuesday morning, Jordan emphasized that Joshua had not been subjected to different standards compared to his opponents.

“He hasn’t been held to any distinct standards from others, certainly not by me or Jim [White] or Gareth A Davies, or anyone else he may be targeting,” Jordan stated.

“The crux of the matter is that people have merely evaluated his body of work and made observations about it, just as they have with Fury’s accomplishments.”
