Governor Ademola Adeleke has responded strongly to the accusations made by the Muslim Rights Organisation (MURIC), which claimed that the governor deliberately appointed only seven Muslims as Commissioners in Osun State, News About Nigeria reports.
The Chairman of MURIC, Ishaq Akintola, further alleged that Adeleke was marginalizing Muslims and acting as a secret agent for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
However, Adeleke, through his spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed, released a statement on Tuesday denouncing MURIC’s attempts to create religious discord in the state.
According to the statement, the governor’s appointments were based on merit and competence, not religious affiliations.
Since assuming office, Governor Adeleke has been committed to good governance and rectifying the mistakes of previous administrations.
