The Labour Party (LP) is taking proactive measures in preparation for a potential rerun election, according to Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, News About Nigeria reports.

Recognizing that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has already begun its preparations, the LP believes it is essential to be equally prepared.

Ifoh emphasized that the party’s national chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, is fully aware of the situation.

Abure has urged the party’s vast membership, which exceeds 10 million individuals, to remain vigilant and ready to humiliate the APC and its government in the upcoming polls.

Abure conveyed his thoughts on the matter, stating, “There are rumors that those in power are already making arrangements for a rerun, and we seek your support on this matter. We should also make preparations because if those in power are already preparing for a rerun, we must not be caught off guard.

Therefore, we will require your active participation and support if, by any chance, today’s election is nullified, although that is not what we are seeking. We are demanding a clear declaration of Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria.”

He expressed strong belief in their victory in the election based on the available statistics and results.

Consequently, the LP anticipates nothing less than the declaration of Peter Obi as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. However, if the government proceeds with its plan for a rerun, the LP will be prepared for such an eventuality.

The LP firmly maintains that the outcome of the presidential election petition tribunal will favor Peter Obi following their presentation of evidence.

In their statement, they expressed confidence in the tribunal’s decision and remain hopeful that, if necessary, the Supreme Court will also rule in their favor.
