Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico is now out of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the accident that gave him severe traumatic brain injury, News About Nigeria understands.

“Sergio Rico has been discharged from the ICU where he was under close surveillance and monitoring during the five weeks he has been cared for by the Intensive Care team, along with other specialists.“

It also added that he will be placed under the care of another team of specialists in his ward.

“As of today, he has been admitted to the ward, where he will continue to receive medical and nursing care from another team of specialists at the hospital.”

Rico is said to have been in a coma, although sources revealed last week that he had regained consciousness and communicating again.

The Spanish goaltender won the Europa League twice with his hometown team Sevilla and joined Paris Saint-Germain permanently in 2020 after a loan stint at the France club.
