Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has extended a generous offer of automatic employment to Miss Yusuf Aminat, an exceptional First-Class Law graduate from Lagos State University (LASU), News About Nigeria reports.
With an extraordinary Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0, Yusuf has achieved the highest academic record in the institution’s four-decade history.
It is worth mentioning that the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had previously announced a commendable reward of N10 million for Yusuf’s remarkable achievement. However, Governor Obaseki, in a press briefing held in Benin, the capital of Edo State, expressed his administration’s desire to go beyond mere congratulations.
Governor Obaseki stated that the decision to offer automatic employment to Yusuf was motivated by the intention to prevent the potential loss of her talents to other states.
Emphasizing the importance of securing her services, he mentioned that Yusuf had not yet completed her mandatory youth service.
To address this, the Governor plans to write to the National Youth Service Corps, proposing that she serves in Edo State, thus eliminating the risk of her talents being overlooked elsewhere.
In addition to the employment opportunity, Miss Yusuf has received various other forms of support and recognition as a token of appreciation for her outstanding accomplishment.
The Governor acknowledged that she has truly demonstrated her exceptional abilities and has proven her worth in a remarkable manner.
Governor Obaseki’s offer of automatic employment reflects his administration’s commitment to nurturing and retaining talented individuals within the state.
By recognizing and rewarding exceptional academic achievements, the government aims to foster an environment that encourages excellence and provides opportunities for personal and professional growth.
