Obasa Returns As Speaker As Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates 10th Assembly

Mudashiru Obasa, the representative of the Agege 1 constituency in Lagos State House of Assembly, has been elected as the Speaker of the House for the third consecutive term.

News About Nigeria reports that this announcement came after the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, officially inaugurated the 10th Assembly on Tuesday.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the newly elected members of the Assembly, which consists of a total of 40 representatives.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) holds the majority with 38 members, while the Labour Party has two representatives from their respective constituencies across the state.

During the proclamation of the 10th Assembly, Governor Sanwo-Olu exercised his authority and stated, “Members-elect, ladies and gentlemen, in accordance with the powers vested in me, I hereby declare the 10th Assembly of the Lagos State House of Assembly officially inaugurated.”

Mudashiru Obasa’s reelection as the Speaker of the House demonstrates the trust and confidence placed in him by his constituents and fellow lawmakers.

He was nominated for the position by Temitope Adewale, the representative of Ifako-Ijaiye 1 state constituency.

As the Speaker, Obasa will play a crucial role in the legislative activities of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

His extensive experience and leadership qualities make him well-suited for this position, and his reappointment reflects his ability to effectively serve the interests of the people and uphold the principles of democracy.
