Chelsea football club has formally announced the appointment of Chris Jurasek as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), News About Nigeria reports.
Jurasek’s appointment is coming days after Tom Glick, president of business at the club, decided to step down from his role to pursue other opportunities.
Jurasek will now be saddled with the responsibility of taking charge 9f the club’s business areas and will report to the club’s board.
He will work alongside co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, who according to reports, will remain responsible for all the sporting activities of the club.
The statement quoted Jurasek as he expressed eagerness to help the club grow while looking forward to working closely with the owners.
“I’m delighted to be joining Chelsea, a club that is loved and followed all over the world. I’m enormously proud to be leading it into the next chapter in its rich history.
“We have huge opportunities to grow on and off the pitch and to engage our exceptional fans both in London and wherever they are supporting us from.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our owners, leadership and everyone around the club,” he added.
Reacting to the development, Chelsea owners, Todd Boehly, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss said Jurasek is a versed experienced executive with good records, adding that he is a fantastic addition to the club.
“Chris is an outstanding executive who will add significant value to Chelsea. A collaborative and senior leader with experience across a diverse range of companies, Chris is a fantastic addition to our team.”
