The promised Nigeria Air aircraft has successfully arrived in the country, as pledged by the government led by Muhammadu Buhari, marking the imminent commencement of its operations.
News About Nigeria reports that the aircraft, adorned in Nigeria’s national colors, has been unveiled, fulfilling the administration’s commitments to the aviation sector.
Earlier this week, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced that the plane would be arriving in the country, signaling the beginning of operations and the unveiling of the delivery process.
Furthermore, Sirika emphasized that President Muhammadu Buhari himself would officially introduce the national carrier before May 29, and it would commence operations prior to the end of his administration.
While discussing the progress made, the minister mentioned that the only outstanding item was the aerotropolis, the airport city, which is currently 60% complete.
He assured that the groundwork has been finished and that the subsequent administration would conclude the development of the airport city.
Additionally, he highlighted that the Federal Government has significantly improved the aviation sector, achieving more than 90% of the road map for this industry.
Responding to the challenges faced by the Nigeria Air project, the Presidency expressed confidence that it would be a transformative endeavor once it is officially inaugurated.
During an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, presidential spokesman Garba Shehu acknowledged that the project had encountered obstacles due to a court case initiated by domestic Nigerian airline operators.
However, he confirmed that the case had been resolved.
Shehu elaborated, stating that the Nigeria Air project had experienced a protracted journey.
Throughout President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year tenure, there were numerous instances where it was presented before the Federal Executive Council, only to face setbacks repeatedly.
It was not until recently, after the resolution of the court case, that progress was able to resume.
Expressing admiration for the Minister of Aviation’s unwavering determination to realize the national carrier, Shehu stated that the project would benefit numerous Nigerians.
