According to a report by News About Nigeria, heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been included in the Under-35 Rich List published by the UK’s Sunday Times.
Joshua secured the 13th spot on the list with an estimated net worth of ₦106 billion, making him the wealthiest individual of Nigerian descent featured on the list.
The annual list consists of 20 UK citizens under the age of 35, encompassing a wide range of corporate leaders, royalties, actors, artists, and athletes who have achieved remarkable success in their respective fields.
Among the individuals mentioned, it was reported that nine of the 20 wealthiest individuals inherited their wealth from affluent families, while the remaining 11 amassed their fortunes through personal endeavors, including Joshua’s achievements.
One notable example of inherited wealth is the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, who, at the age of 25, inherited his title and estate. With a rumored net worth of $12.3 billion, he holds the top position on the list.
Joshua’s net worth primarily stems from endorsement deals with renowned companies such as Hugo Boss and Land Rover. Most recently, he signed an exclusive £100 million deal with DAZN, resulting in a departure from Sky Sports. This agreement entails two fights per year until his retirement.
While the list features only 20 individuals, there are undoubtedly several other celebrities who possess considerable wealth but did not make the cut.
Currently, Anthony Joshua is engaged in negotiations with American professional boxer Deontay Wilder for a lucrative fight scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia this December
