The Coalition for True Governance (CTG) has expressed disappointment over the lack of action taken by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, in addressing the security challenges facing the state.
The CTG is calling on the Governor to take responsibility and provide solutions to the pressing issues, News About Nigeria reports.
The CTG has condemned the recurring incidents of violent crimes in the state, including kidnappings and murders. The group has also expressed concerns about the disruption of public services such as healthcare and education due to the ongoing workers’ strike.
In a statement issued by the Convener of CTG, Charles Odenigbo, the group called on the Imo State House of Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against Governor Uzodinma for his lack of action and leadership in addressing the issues.
The group noted that the Governor’s failure to take proper steps to address the concerns of workers and engage in meaningful dialogue is unacceptable.
They believe that innocent lives are being lost on a regular basis while workers are being forced to take to the streets to demand better pay and working conditions.
CTG expressed their concerns about Imo State being in the news most times due to the disturbing trend of violent crimes. Just a few weeks back, five policemen and a couple were gruesomely killed in Ngor-Okpala area of the state.
The recurring incidents of violence have caused significant disruption and fear in the state.
Leadership is all about taking responsibility and providing solutions to pressing issues. Governor Hope Uzodinma was elected to lead Imo State, and it is his duty to ensure the security and welfare of the people.
His failure to do so has put the lives of Imo State residents in danger and caused significant disruption to public services.
It is time for Governor Hope Uzodinma to take responsibility and provide solutions to the security challenges in Imo State.
The people of Imo State deserve better, and it is the duty of the governor to provide it. CTG urges the Governor to act fast and address the security challenges in Imo State before it is too late.
