The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has named a 21-man squad for the FIFA Under-20 World holding in Argentina later this month.
NFF disclosed this on their official Twitter page on Monday.
The list comprises three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and six forwards.
Recall that News About Nigeria had earlier reported the arrival of the Flying Eagle team in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital, ahead of the May 20 men’s tournament.
The early arrival was hinged on a series of scheduled friendly match involvements by the boys, in preparation for the competition.
The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group D with Brazil, Italy and debutants Dominican Republic.
The head coach, Ladan Bosso kept the majority of his AFCON squad who participated in the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt earlier this year.
The team will play their first two games in Mendoza, the western part of Argentina, against the Dominican Republic on May 21 and against Italy on May 24, before they fly to La Plata to play Brazil on May 27.
The Flying Eagles are among three other African countries (Senegal, The Gambia, and Tunisia), that are participating in the tournament in Argentina.
Nigeria has made it to the finals of the competition twice in the past.
