The Labour Party in Kaduna State is currently facing a severe crisis, with the local chapter publicly disassociating itself from the faction led by Lamidi Apapa, News About Nigeria has learnt.

As a result, the party has taken the decision to suspend three key members for engaging in activities that go against the party’s interests.

The State Executive Council recently held an emergency meeting in Kaduna, where these suspensions were announced.

The individuals affected by this decision are Hon Bashir Idris Aliyu, who served as the party’s deputy governorship candidate in the previous election, Michael Ayuba Auta, the senatorial candidate, and Ibrahim Sidi Bamali, another prominent figure within the party.

After the SEC meeting, the party’s Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idris, addressed the media and provided an eight-point communique.

According to Yusuf, the suspended members were found to have participated in a Bauchi National Executive Council meeting organized by the factional chairman, Lamidi Apapa.

The party intends to forward the suspension decision to the National Working Committee of the Labour Party and other relevant bodies for further action.

Yusuf further emphasized the loyalty of party members to the state chairman, Hon Auwal Tafoki, and urged the public to disregard anyone falsely claiming to hold the position of chairman in the state.

The communique shed light on the disruptive agenda of the renegade group led by Lamidi Apapa.

Their aim is to establish parallel structures at the national level and across various states, with the ultimate goal of undermining the mandates of Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed.
