Some soldiers including a member of the Royal Navy and a soldier carrying a flag, collapsed during the coronation of King Charles III, News About Nigeria reports.

They reportedly slumped due to exhaustion as they eagerly awaited their participation in the grand return procession leading to Buckingham Palace for the highly anticipated Coronation of King Charles.

Promptly responding to the situation, the Royal Navy officer was swiftly placed on a stretcher, and his fellow soldiers provided immediate medical aid to ensure his well-being.

With great enthusiasm, over 4,000 ceremonial troops have enthusiastically joined forces to partake in the majestic procession, serving as escorts for the triumphant return of King Charles and Queen to their royal residence in the renowned Gold State Coach.

Meanwhile, in a momentous event, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were officially crowned on Saturday in a historic ceremony held at Westminster Abbey in London.

Following the coronation, the royal couple made a memorable appearance on the balcony, where they were treated to a spectacular flyover.

The coronation proceedings, deeply rooted in time-honored traditions yet adapted to suit the contemporary era, unfolded in the presence of approximately 2,000 specially invited guests.

Additionally, millions of people around the world tuned in to witness the momentous occasion through live television broadcasts and online streams.

While Charles assumed the title of king immediately after the passing of his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022, the coronation ceremony served to officially sanctify and commemorate his journey to the throne.

It marked a joyous occasion to honor his ascent as the new monarch.
