Former President Goodluck Jonathan Pays Tribute To His Late Predecessor, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has paid tribute to his late predecessor, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, on the 13th anniversary of his passing.

Yar’Adua died in office on May 5, 2009, and Jonathan described him as an exemplary leader who lived above prejudice and was fair to all.

In a twitter post, Jonathan said:

President Yar’Adua was an exemplary leader who lived above prejudice and was fair to all. His public life inspired many positively. I always recall with fondness the pleasant experience of working with him as my boss,” News About Nigeria gathered.

He further added,

“Today, we remember him for his life of selfless service, dedication and commitment to a united and prosperous nation. We will continue to remember him for his developmental strides and his commitment to the peace and progress of Nigeria.”

Yar’Adua served as Nigeria’s President from 2007 until his death in 2009. In 2010 the news about his death came as a shock to the nation, and he was widely mourned by Nigerians of all walks of life because, during his tenure, he had initiated several projects and policies aimed at promoting development and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.

Jonathan, who succeeded Yar’Adua as President, has often spoken highly of his predecessor and their working relationship, which was marked by mutual respect and collaboration.

As Nigerians mark the 13th anniversary of Yar’Adua’s passing, many have paid tribute to the late leader, acknowledging his contributions to the country and his impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.
