The Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has a new substantive rector, Dr Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, News About Nigeria reports.
According to people familiar with the appoint, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him and the appointment took effect on Monday, April 3, 2023, for a five-year term.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, presented Ebeloku’s letter of appointment to him in Abuja on Monday, April 17, 2023.
Ebeloku’s appointment as rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji follows a rigorous selection process.
Prior to his appointment, he was the acting rector of Lens Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, and previously served as the dean of the School of Business and Management Studies at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, from December 2018 to March 2022.
Ebeloku is a well-qualified academic who holds several degrees and certifications. He earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration with Second Class Upper Division from the University of Ilorin in 1994.
He also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2002, a Master of Science (MSc) in Management Science in 2006, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Capital Management in 2018, all from the same institution.
Additionally, Ebeloku earned a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) in 2007 and a certificate in computer programming in 2001 from the National Teachers Institute, Kaduna, and the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, respectively.
Ebeloku’s academic career began at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, where he joined as an assistant lecturer in January 1997.
Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become a chief lecturer in the Department of Business Administration in July 2015. He is a native of Ila Orangun, Osun State, and is married with four children.
As the new substantive rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ebeloku is expected to bring his wealth of experience and qualifications to bear in steering the institution to greater heights.
His appointment is a positive development for the polytechnic and the educational sector in Nigeria as a whole, and it is hoped that he will make a positive impact on the institution and its students.
