Dr. Nuhu Clark, who was elected as a member of the Borno House of Assembly for the Chibok constituency, has passed away.
News About Nigeria reported that the late politician died on Monday while receiving treatment in India.
Confirming the news on Wednesday, Babakura Abbajatau, the State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, stated that the government of Borno State would release an official statement soon after speaking with the family of the deceased.
The late Clark was described as a great loss to his family, the people of Southern Borno, and the state as a whole by the Borno Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, who also commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased.
Kadafur went on to describe the late Clark as a significant contributor to the growth and development of the state and noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had lost a valuable member.
Dr. Nuhu Clark was a well-known politician in Borno State, and he had been elected to the Borno House of Assembly in the 2019 general elections. Before his election, he had worked as a medical doctor at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
The news of his demise has been received with shock and sadness by residents of Chibok and other parts of Borno State.
