A man identified as Isiaka Alhassan Dogara and his 14-year-old daughter, Fatima, have been killed by gunmen in Abuja.
News About Nigeria learnt that the deceased was a cattle seller and that the attack happened on Saturday night when Isiaka and his daughter, Fatima were abducted from their home in Chitumu, Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory.
Armed men numbering about 15 were said to have gone straight to the deceased house and abducted them.
According to a source, “They swiftly abducted him alongside one of his daughters, Fatima, who’s about 14 years. They later killed them.”
Other residents of the community tried to intervene but one person, identified as Adamu Musa, was shot in the abdomen and was quickly rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.
The incident was confirmed by the Secretary to the community’s village head, Muhammad Liman, who said the attackers arrived some minutes after 12 midnight.
News About Nigeria also gathered that three of Isiaka’s uncles who rushed to the scene of the attack also sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The FCT Police Command is yet to confirm or react to the unfortunate incident.
There have been a series of attacks over the past few days in different parts of the country. This comes just a few weeks after a seeming pause in attacks during the election period.
Recall that scores were killed while many others sustained severe injuries after suspected herdsmen invaded an Internally Displaced Persons, IDP camp in Benue State on Friday night.
