Ladi Bako, the wife of the first governor of Kano State, Audu Bako, has passed away at the age of 93.

Her daughter Zainab Bako confirmed the news to News About Nigeria, saying that the nonagenarian died at Prime Specialist Hospital in Kano after a prolonged illness.

Ladi Bako was born in Kano in 1930 and was married to Audu Bako, who was appointed military governor of the old Kano State from May 1967 to July 1975.

During her husband’s tenure, Ladi Bako was known for her dedication to the development of Kano State.

She supported her husband’s efforts to undertake many reforms and build institutions across the state.

Ladi Bako was also a philanthropist who dedicated her life to helping the less privileged in the society.

She was the founder of the Ladi Bako Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to widows and orphans in Kano State.

Her foundation has helped many people over the years and has become a symbol of hope for the less privileged in Kano State.

Her passing has been met with sadness from people across the state who remember her for her dedication to the welfare of the people.

Many people have taken to social media to express their condolences and pay tribute to the late Ladi Bako.

The funeral rites for Ladi Bako will take place at Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano, and are expected to be attended by many people who knew and loved her.
