Former Chief Technology Officer of Square and founder of Cash App, Bob Lee, has died.

News About Nigeria gathered that he died after being stabbed in San Francisco in the early hours of Tuesday, April 4.

Police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the city’s Rincon Hill neighborhood at around 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found the victim, who was then taken to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The city’s medical examiner’s office has not yet identified the victim, but friends of Lee have confirmed that he was the victim of the attack.

Lee, who was 43 years old, was the Chief Product Officer of San Francisco-based cryptocurrency startup MobileCoin.

He had previously worked as the CTO of Square and was a well-known figure in the tech industry.

Following news of his death, many took to Twitter to express their condolences and share memories of Lee.

A flood of messages was posted eulogizing him, many including his @crazybob Twitter handle.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing, and San Francisco police have not released any suspect details.

They have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward and call the Police Department’s tip line.

The tech industry has been left in shock by the news of Lee’s death.
