Man Arrested For Attempted Suicide After Climbing Broadcast Mast In Abuja

A man identified as Shuaibu Yusuf climbed a transmission tower belonging to a radio station in Ketampe, Abuja to air his grievances over the current economic hardship bedevilling the nation.

News About Nigeria gathered that Yusuf is threatening to end it all if the Federal government fails to address the current scarcity and other hardship Nigerians are suffering.

This was disclosed by an X user, @TheSerahIbrahim  who shared a video of the man on the transmission tower while first responders were trying to speak to him to make him climb down from the transmission tower.

In the video, first responders, the police, press men and many other people were seen encouraging Shuaibu to not end it all but to come down from the mast.

Speaking to him, one of the first responders, while begging him to not hurt himself, promised that they will deliver his message to President Bola Tinubu.

She further lauded him for being a patriotic Nigerian who is concerned about the affairs of the country.

The post shared on X reads, “Man goes on a single-man protest in Abuja, threatens to jump down from the Abuja transmission tower unless the fuel subsidy is reinstated.

“The young man who said his name is Shuaibu Yusuf from Borno State climbed the transmission mast belonging to a radio station in Ketampe Abuja, stating he’d commit suicide if the fuel subsidy is not returned immediately. He also stated the hardship on him is a lot. First responders are currently speaking with him to ensure he comes down safely.”
