Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has claimed that he could open a church if he wants to.
News About Nigeria reports that Wizkid made the claim in a post on his official X account on Thursday.
According to the “Ojuelegba” crooner, he believes that the church will thrive with just his fan base as members.
The award-winning singer started by saying that he was thankful to God for blessing him with all the tools and that he could start a church if he wanted.
His tweet reads, “Truly thankful to God for blessing me with all the tools. I could start a church if I wanted.”

One of Wizkid’s fans, @big_mascot responded by saying that it would be better if he started a cult.
He said, “A cult would be better.”
Wizkid then replied his fan saying that his fan base was already a cult.
“Fc na cult,” he wrote.

Another X user, @aysmooth2402 also said, “The way Wizkid praises God needs to be studied”

Also, @danielregha, who was not happy with Wizkid’s statement about opening a church said, “Wizkid, Church isn’t a business, u can’t start a church even if u wanted to (unless called by God); There’s a difference between a get together & religious gathering. Everytime u post “Jesus is King” but then make mockery of Christianity. Y’all won’t disrespect other religions like this.”
