Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, have celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary, News About Nigeria reports.
Regina Daniels took to Instagram to mark the occasion, saying that they have enjoyed “remarkable 5 years of marital bliss” together.
In her celebratory post, Regina shared a heartfelt message and a cozy video of herself and her husband.
She expressed gratitude for their journey so far and prayed for many more years filled with love, peace, care, and respect.
“Happy 5th anniversary, my love. It has indeed been a remarkable 5 years of marital bliss with so much to show for it. We give all glory to God and pray for many more years to celebrate in love, peace, care, and respect. Our home is indeed blessed,” she wrote.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko, who have a significant age gap, tied the knot in May 2019 in Delta State.
Since then, the couple has welcomed two children between 2019 and 2023.
The lawmaker representing Delta North senatorial district recently shared insights into their marriage during an interview with Channels Television’s Seun Okinbaloye.
In the interview, Ned Nwoko, 63, explained why he chose to marry Regina Daniels, 23.
He revealed that his decision was influenced by a desire to marry someone from his place, Aniocha Local Government Area, Delta State.
“For her particularly, I married her because she is from my place. I wanted to marry a wife from my place, and I was looking for the right person. By the time I met her, I knew she must be the one,” he said.
Nwoko also mentioned that he was under pressure from his family and traditional rulers to marry someone from his community.
He said independence and a career were the specific criteria he set for his prospective spouse.
Despite proposals from his family to marry other local girls, Nwoko chose Regina because she met all his requirements.
“Before Regina, my uncles brought some local girls and said, ‘You must marry this one or that one,’ but I said they don’t meet the criteria of what I want. I can’t marry a woman who is not a virgin. I can’t, and I wouldn’t,” he stated.
Nwoko said when he first met Regina, he directly asked if she was a virgin, and she confirmed.
He also said that sports, particularly tennis and swimming, are integral to his family’s lifestyle.
According to him, Regina embraced these requirements and has excelled in them.
“I told her ‘Every member of my family must do sport.’ She said, ‘What sport?’ and I told her that you must play tennis and swim; everybody swims, everybody plays tennis. And she said that she would do it. And now she does it better than everyone,” Nwoko added.
