Governor Mutfwang Sends Condolences To NAF, Adamawa Over Accident Involving 19 Victims

On Monday, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, lauded President Bola Tinubu for donating 997 metric tonnes of grains to the state in order to alleviate the sufferings of the indigent and vulnerable in the state, News About Nigeria reports.

The governor expressed his appreciation when he received the palliatives today (Monday) in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

While appreciating President Tinubu, Governor Mutfwang noted that the president’s action shows his care and concern for the vulnerable in society.

He further noted that the donation by the president came at the right time, as the people are currently suffering from the impact of the current economic hardship.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for listening to the cry of the vulnerable in Nigeria. We are living in difficult times and moments when mistakes of the past have led us to the current problems we are confronting. The problems required painful policies to be put in place, which made life painful at the moment. Mr. President has deemed fit to procure and release these items to every state of the federation so that we can address the immediate stomach challenges.”

Mutfwang further noted that “it is my prayer that next year we will not need to supply palliatives but will be able to farm sufficiently to be able to provide food security to our people and be able to drive hunger from every home in Nigeria.”

The governor said that his administration is committed to tackling poverty and ensuring that the people of Plateau have access to better living despite the economic challenges.

He announced that, in line with this, in addition to the palliatives the state received from the federal government through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the state government would add 26,979 bags of 25kg of rice for onward distribution across the state.
