President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a private meeting with Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, at the presidential villa in Abuja.

Jandor, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos during the 2023 election, met with Tinubu between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

News About Nigeria reports that the discussion was not made public.

Jandor recently left the PDP, citing issues within the party, including internal conflicts and actions that worked against its interests.

Although he has not revealed his next political move, his resignation has sparked speculation about his future plans.

Before joining the PDP for the last election, he was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the 2023 Lagos governorship election, Jandor finished behind the winner, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC, and the Labour Party’s candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

He later criticized PDP leaders for what he described as betrayal at a critical moment before the polls.

According to him, a misleading claim of an alliance led many PDP supporters to vote for another party, affecting his chances of winning.

Though details of his discussion with Tinubu remain unclear, sources revealed it was aimed at resolving political differences.

The meeting has raised speculation about possible alignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

Before meeting Tinubu, Jandor had visited former heads of state, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Niger State.

He also met with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and officials from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), fueling further discussions about his next steps in politics.
