Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus popularly known as Portable, has revealed that he is receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.
News About Nigeria understands that he made this statement while appealing to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government after being declared wanted by the police.
The Zazu Zeh crooner was accused of attacking three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement operation in Ota.
The officials, who visited Odogwu Bar in the area, reportedly encountered Portable’s father while asking for a building permit.
Shortly after, Portable allegedly arrived with a firearm and a group of nine men, attacking the officials.
The victims sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the police.
Nine suspects were arrested, but Portable fled and has been in hiding since then.
In response, Portable took to social media, claiming he was being targeted because he wore a vest featuring Senator Adeola Solomon, also known as Yayi.
He further stated that he has a patient card at Aro Hospital, confirming his ongoing psychiatric treatment.
He said, “I fear government. I am a federal government liability. Then I’m a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital. I have a card that certifies me as one of their patients.
“I am from Abeokuta and they are taking care of me there. I am not a thief, I help people around me without even looking at their background.”
