The Winner of the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has been ranked number two in the world in this year’s Miss Universe Pre-Arrival Hot Picks, News About Nigeria reports.

Adetshina, who is already making Nigeria proud, arrived in Mexico in October 2024.

However, while Chidinma is number two, the South African candidate, who contested alongside Chidinma in South Africa before Adetshina was forced to step down, was nowhere to be found on the top 30 list.

Other countries with contestants on the top 30 list are, Puerto Rico (number 3), Thailand (4), Finland (5), France (6), Ecuador (7), Malaysia (8), Venezuela (9), Peru (10), Mexico (11), Zimbabwe (12).

Further down the list are Chile (13), India (14), Brazil (15), Dominican Republic (16), Spain (17), Philippines (18), Romania (19), Myanmar (20), Albania (21), Colombia (22), Portugal (23), and Bahrain (24).

Also included are Cambodia (25), U.S. Virgin Islands (26), Slovakia (27), Russia (28), Estonia (29), and Jamaica at number 30.

Recall that Chidimma first gained attention after receiving negative comments and backlash from South Africans upon entering their Miss South Africa pageant. Due to the criticism she faced over her Nigerian roots, she decided to withdraw from the contest.

After stepping down from Miss South Africa, the 23-year-old competed as Miss Taraba and went on to win the Miss Universe Nigeria title.

Chidimma’s massive success at this year’s Miss Universe Pre-arrival hot picks has left the internet agog as many Nigerians are celebrating her win saying it is for Nigeria at large.

On the other hand, South Africans are now divided as some are regretting the mistreatment against Chidimma while others are still hating on her through their posts on social media.
