The Ekiti State Government has taken steps towards enhancing the flow of electricity in the state, News About Nigeria reports.
On Wednesday, the state government commissioned 16 500KVA transformers and two Sino trucks as part of efforts to enhance access to electricity in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued via the state’s official handle on X on Thursday.
The government also commissioned 21 Dino bins aimed at improving waste management practices across the state.
The statement highlighted the commitment of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to fostering a healthier and cleaner Ekiti while ensuring that all residents have access to essential infrastructure and services.
The commissioning took place on the second anniversary of Oyebanji as governor of Ekiti State.
He noted that he will continue to revamp and provide adequate and modern infrastructure in Ekiti State.
The statement reads, “Ekiti State Government, yesterday, commissioned 16 500KVA transformers, 2 Sino trucks, and 21 Dino bins as part of efforts to enhance access to electricity and improve waste management practices across the state.
“The well-attended event, which saw a large turnout of cleaners and waste disposal staff, highlighted Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s unwavering commitment to fostering a healthier and cleaner Ekiti while ensuring that all residents have access to essential infrastructure and services.
“The occasion, which was on the second anniversary of the governor’s swearing-in, also inspired the governor to thank all EKS-WAMA staff present for their constant support and contributions to the success of his administration.
“We remain firmly committed to the revamp and provision of adequate and modern infrastructure in Ekiti alongside the maintenance of a cleaner and healthier state.”
