Bobrisky Denies Allegations Of Paying N15 Million To EFCC Officials

Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has denied claims that he paid N15 million to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him.

In a post shared on his Instagram account, Bobrisky dismissed the allegations, calling them false.

He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”

The denial comes after a viral video surfaced, showing a phone conversation between Bobrisky and Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

In the video, Bobrisky allegedly claimed that certain EFCC officers extorted N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges.

He reportedly stated, “They charged me to court. So we begged them that if they wanted to remove the money laundering charge, how much would they collect, and they said N15 million.”

Following these allegations, the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, launched an investigation into the matter.

In a press release issued by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the Commission confirmed that a team of investigators had been appointed to probe the accusations.

Both Bobrisky and Otse have been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos office to assist in the investigation.

The agency assured the public that the findings of the investigation would be made public once completed.

The EFCC had previously dropped money laundering charges against Bobrisky, before sentencing him to six months in prison for naira abuse in April.
