The Anambra State Police Command has stated that it has recovered about three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, and some other dangerous materials from a camp raid in Ihiala LGA of the state, News About Nigeria reports.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday in Onitsha.
He noted that this was in collaboration with the Anambra State Security Joint Task Force (JTF), following a bust operation in the criminal camp.
The command also disclosed that the operation had taken place after the joint security forces gathered security intelligence and organized a planned and coordinated operation.
According to him, the camps are located in Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.
“The camps, which are located in Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of the Ihiala Local Government Area of the state, recovered three unexploded improvised explosives.
“Two abandoned vehicles, some explosive materials like copper wire, fuel, and other dangerous materials were recovered,” he stated.
Ikenga further noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Nnaghe Itam, has charged the operatives to sustain the tempo of the operations.
He stressed that the commissioner has further assured the good people of the state, of the commitment of the police, and other security agencies to continue to dominate and deny the criminal elements of committing havoc in the state.
He maintained that the Command will continue to fight crime in its entirety and ensure that the state is safe for all to live and conduct their businesses.
