Security Operatives Detain Sowore In Lagos Airport

Security operatives have arrested popular activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, News About Nigeria reports.

Sowore was reportedly nabbed upon his return to Nigeria.

Deji Adeyanju, human rights activist and convener of concerned Nigerians, confirmed the development on Sunday.

“SOWORE was arrested by the jobless and lawless Nigerian government for calling for an End to Bad Governance protest,” Daily post quoted Adeyanju as saying.

The former presidential candidate claimed that security agencies were plotting to frame him as guilty of bogus offences.

He had disclosed this via his verified Facebook page on Saturday.

Sowore said, “Yeah! All around in my home town, they’re tryin’ to track me down, yeah! They say they want to bring me in guilty.

“However Babylon must fall! #FearlessInOctober.”

On his X page, Sowore said he had been detained by the Nigeria Immigration Service.

“DETAINED BY THE @NigerianImmigration, my International passport  confiscated,” Sowore wrote.

” I had just arrived in Nigeria from the USA to the MMIA in Lagos; upon reaching Nigerian Immigration, my passport was seized, and they told me they had orders to detain me.

“This is not un expected because i have always known that It is part of the broader clampdown by the fascist @officialAbat regime on dissent and their fear of the upcoming #FearlessINOctober revolt.

“In case this becomes another prolonged and protracted detention, I urge our citizens to ensure they ALL stop tyranny by all means acceptable and necessary, by engaging in the planned series of direct actions slated for October 1st and beyond.
