Tinubu Launches APC Institute, Promises New Era Of Electoral Choice

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Minister of Agriculture Abubakar Kyari, launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) Progressive Institute on Friday.

News About Nigeria reports that he promised a paradigm shift that will empower Nigerians to make informed electoral decisions.

Kyari explained that party ideology is a critical issue that requires immediate attention from the institute.

He said, “The institute’s role as a think tank and intellectual hub is timely and strategic, as it will help change the way APC engages with Nigerians.”

The minister explained the need to build a genuine connection with Nigerians, promote inclusivity, honesty, and empowerment through voter education.

Tinubu reiterated his commitment to enhancing Nigerians’ ability to make free electoral choices.

Tinubu expressed his passion for addressing party ideology, which he believes will give APC a clear direction and foundation.

He tasked the institute with this responsibility.

In his remarks, the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, described the institute as a “hub for recreating the party and formulating fresh political ideologies.”

Ganduje listed the institute’s roles: serving as the party’s think tank, undertaking research, and advising on policy performance.

He also said the importance of promoting inclusiveness and ownership through robust discussions.

According to him, the institute will provide a platform for discussions between the party, academics, civil society, and the media.

“Its purpose is to enhance the party’s policy capacity and provide advice to governments elected on its platform,” he said.

Ganduje explained the institute’s role in making the party more competitive by providing research-driven training programs.

He noted the importance of fulfilling the party’s constitutional mandate through leadership recruitment and policy agenda setting.

The Chairman of APC Progressive Governors Forum,  Hope Uzodinma promised to send newly elected Local Government executives to the institute for training during his keynote speech.
