Buhari Sympathises With Kyari Over Daughter’s Death

On Wednesday, former president Muhammadu Buhari condemned the recent terrorist attack on Yobe State that led to the loss of several lives.

Speaking in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, the former president said the latest incident was a “dreadful reminder that communities supported by governments have more work to do in curbing the menace of the terrorists.”

In the statement, the former President prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed.

He further called for a strict response to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous act are brought to book.

The statement reads, “Former President Muhammadu Buhari has decried the recent terrorist attack on Yobe State that led to the loss of several lives, saying that the latest incident was a “dreadful reminder that communities supported by governments have more work to do in curbing the menace of the terrorists.

“In a message to Governor Mai Mala Buni, the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, and the entire people of the State, the former President prayed for the repose of those killed, and called for a strict response to those who commit these ‘monstrous acts.’ Muhammadu Buhari prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness in the country.”

News About Nigeria recalls that suspected Boko Haram militants had attacked Mafa village in Yobe State’s Tarmuwa Local Government Area on Sunday, looting and burning down shops and homes.

The tragedy led to the loss of over 34 lives as the state government had yesterday (Tuesday) conducted a mass burial for the victims.
