The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Radda, has mourned the passing of late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua’s mother, Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua, the matriarch of the renowned Yar’adua family, News About Nigeria reports.
The governor expressed his condolences to the family in a condolence visit to the Yar’adua family residence on Monday, the 2nd of September 2024.
Upon receiving news of her demise, Governor Radda immediately cut short his official engagements in Daura to personally extend his condolences to the grieving family to show the deep respect and admiration the state government holds for the Yar’adua family, who have played a crucial role in the history and development of Nigeria and Katsina State.
He also expressed his profound sorrow at the loss of Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua, and lauded her for leading an exemplary life and for being a pillar of strength not only to her family but to the entire Katsina community.
The Katsina Governor offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to grant her soul eternal peace, and also prayed for the Yar’adua family, asking Allah to give them the strength to endure this great loss.
He stated, “Hajiya Dada’s influence on Katsina State cannot be overstated,” Governor Radda remarked. “She was a woman of great character, who nurtured a family that has profoundly shaped the history of our state and nation. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
“While we mourn her passing, we must also celebrate the remarkable legacy she left behind. Her life was one of service, compassion, and unwavering faith, and I urge the family to continue in her footsteps.”
Hajiya Dada passed away at the age of 102.
