TG Omori Shares Health Update After Kidney Transplant Failure

In a social media post on Friday, celebrated Nigerian cinematographer and music video director ThankGod Omori, better known as TG Omori, revealed he is on the path to recovery following complications from a recent kidney transplant.

The award-winning director, known for his visually stunning music videos, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers.

“Up and grateful, O Lord,” Omori wrote, adding a touch of humour by noting he couldn’t perform a backflip to show his appreciation.

Omori disclosed that he is currently healing from the surgical wounds of the unsuccessful transplant attempt.

Despite this setback, he said he is determined to continue his fight against kidney disease, a battle he has been waging for over a year.

Omori said he is eager to return to his craft, promising fans he “can’t wait to create new, crowded music videos” for their enjoyment.

“Up and grateful o lord. (Sadly I can’t backflip)

“Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes, I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one, I’ll continue the fight, been on it for past a year or two and I can’t back down now.

“Love y’all so much. Can’t wait to make New crowded music videos for y’all,” he tweeted.

The filmmaker’s health struggles came to light earlier this week when he shared that he had undergone a kidney transplant at St Nicolas Hospital in Lagos.

Omori disclosed that his only brother had stepped forward as a donor, offering one of his kidneys.
