PDP BoT Visits Fubara, Seeks To Resolve Rivers Crisis

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has clarified that he and his supporters are genuine members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, contrary to media propaganda.

News About Nigeria reports that Fubara made this speech while addressing members of the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT) who visited him at Government House in Port Harcourt.

The governor expressed gratitude to the BoT members for their visit, which he believes has put an end to false claims about his party membership.

“I appreciate your effort to come to Rivers State to verify the true situation. We are the authentic members of the PDP,” Governor Fubara said.

He commended the party’s founding fathers, such as Chief Bode George and Senator Ahmed Makarfi, for their contributions to the party’s growth.

Governor Fubara assured the BoT members that he would share his perspective on the issues affecting the party in Rivers State.

The Chairman of the PDP’s BoT, Senator Adolphus Wagbara, thanked Governor Fubara for his warm reception and stated that their visit aimed to promote peace and unity within the party in Rivers State.

Senator Wagbara explained that the BoT is concerned about media reports on the party’s situation in Rivers State and seeks to understand the facts.

He assured that any contentious issues would be addressed constitutionally to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We came to seek peace and unity for the PDP. We’ve read various reports, but we want to hear from you directly,” Senator Wagbara said.

He praised Governor Fubara for his patience and resilience in the face of challenges.

The BoT chairman assured that the board would handle the matter constitutionally and address the issues affecting the party in Rivers State.
